School Day
Children coming onto the school grounds are supervised by their parents/guardians until the school doors open at 8.45am. The Headteacher is available on most days on one of the school entrances before and after school.
The children start class at 9am with a lesson together, followed by Collective Worship.
Collective worship takes place in our School Hall. Different staff members, visitors or groups of children take our assemblies and we always have a song/hymn and a prayer together. On Fridays we have our ‘Celebration Assembly’ where we talk about our week and celebrate achievements.
After collective worship, we have an English or Maths lesson and a morning break. After break we have our final lesson of the morning – English or Maths.
Key Stage 1 start their lunch at 12.00pm and Key Stage 2 start at 12.15pm. Children go to the School Hall for their hot or packed lunch.
Younger pupils return to class at 1.00pm and the older ones return at 1.15pm.
The afternoon will consist of two lessons in most classes.
Our school day finishes at 3.30pm.
The total amount of time in school amounts to approximately 32.5 hours each week.
We have our own onsite/school run Breakfast And After School Club (Wrap Around Care). Please follow the link for details.
We also have outside agencies/companies that provide extra-curricular clubs after school for our Year 3 to Year 6 children.
